Rev Cn Charles was born in a small town, Eku in Delta State, Nigeria. He got into the Pastoral ministry after several years of being a choir leader and Royal Ambassadors leader in the Baptist church and later, start-up member of Christ Missionaries Crusaders Church (CMCC), Eku, in 1981. He has been serving as a pastor in CMCC since 1982. He has preached the gospel and touched lives in Nigeria, South Africa, India, Dublin, London, and Chile.

He was an executive member of Business & Faith Connection (BFC), formerly Fellowship Covenant Ministries International (FCMI, Nigeria) where he had an award as an outstanding administrator. He is also a Leadership Chaplain with the rank of Brigadier General from the University of Leadership & Sound Doctrine, Lewisville, Texas.

Charles has a B.Sc (Computer Science / Mathematics), MBA in Financial Management, MA in Religious Leadership, and D.Div. He is the Dean of Admissions at Kingdom Diplomats University, Chester, Virginia. Rev Canon Dr Charles is happily married to his beautiful wife, Deaconess Sabina Akpoghenobor, and their marriage is blessed with three children.
